Learn about wigs

Sarah Nielsen

Wigs in Denmark are on the rise, and more people have realized that wigs are not just for people without hair, but can be used by everyone for all occasions.

At HÆIR we sell heat-resistant synthetic wigs and wigs made of real hair. The heat-resistant wigs can be styled with low and mild heat (However, precautions must be taken and do not use hotter than 120 degrees).

However, the wigs still need to be treated like real hair, and with the correct treatment, your wig can last 3 months or more if it is treated with care.

There are different concepts you need to understand when buying wigs.

Some of them will be explained here:

Lace front = A transparent net at the front of the wig, where the fiber hairs are hand-tied. This helps to make the edge of the wig more ''natural''. The different products on the website will state how long and deep the lace is on the different wigs. For example 33 x 6 cm. This means that the lace front of the wig is 33 cm long and 6 cm deep at the deepest point.

With a lace front, it is also possible to place the parting as you wish.

The lace front must be cut off when you use the wig.

T-part = Means that there is a fixed parting in the middle. Unlike a regular lace front, the parting in a T-part cannot be changed.

Synthetic hair = Are strands of man-made fiber that are made to look and function like natural human hair. In some cases, it is difficult to tell the difference - the density and texture are made so that it almost feels like human hair. A synthetic wig can be used straight out of the box, and has the memory in it that makes its waves and volume fall into place with minimal effort.

I hope you've learned a little more about wigs - and don't hesitate to send me an email if you have any further questions ❤️
